Yes we can

Hi again,

What a day, the Wednesday this week. I don’t know about you, but I was anxiously awaiting the US election day and I think I have never ever followed an election campaign so closely like this one. Because I can hardly remember ever wanted one person become president as much as I did this time.

Well, I must admit when Sarah Palin came on board I thought, okay, thats great, a woman as vice president. It should have been Hillary, but she missed out. So may be that will change things around for the republicans. But I quickly realised it wouldn’t, I actually thought that Sarah would be the worst representative for the female population in the US and may be the world because she is just so plain stupid……….. But that’s just my personal opinion.

Anyway, my heart then went back to the party with the 2 men and surely the woman, Hillary, somehow in the background, and the more I listened to obama the more I liked him and the more I got drawn into the whole campaign. And then of course, it paid off and I must admit, I too had tears in my eyes when I watched the victory speach.

But you know what really touched me the most in that speech? It was the fact that in no time he created a new force amongst all those people watching and listening. And that new force is the simple 3 words: YES WE CAN! Who ever watched the speech might remember that and how it grew from the first 2 or 3 times he mentioned it into a near chorus like statement of the thousands and thousands of people attending the speech.

What a powerful 3 words. YES WE CAN! How often do you say those words? How often do you need those words and disregard them? It is something we have to say much more often, not only in business, not only for health issues to be resolved, but in any part of our life. And only if we use those words more often and with other people together we really can achieve unbelievable things.

So I really would like you to use those 3 words more often, whenever you are at a point where you feel like giving up, nothing is working, you don’t know what to do. Tell yourself YES I CAN, even if you have to repeat it loud and strong many times. You will find that at some stage you really can and a new idea might jump to mind, an idea you never even thought about before. This is important, particularly in times like the ones ahead of us, because these are the times when a lot of people are giving up and think they can’t anymore. Make sure you are the strong one, make sure you can - on your own or with help of others. YOU CAN!

Enjoy your day

Lower back pain and the financial crisis

Here I am again, I told you I would become better at those blog posts. And I am working really hard on it as you can see……

Well it looks like all the negative talk on the financial crisis is just not going to stop and apparently it is now starting to affect even us Australians. On very different levels though and some of those might not be too bad after all. But that’s a different story.

One thing though could be noticed by you as health care practitioners and it is important to remember where we are at at the moment. Do you know Louise L. Hay? I am sure, most of you have heard of her or even read her book(s). And Louise, amongst others, clearly states a connection between Lower back pain and financial stress. Yes! It is true. So should you realise an increase in clients complaining about sudden lower back pain, it might be important to talk to them about the possibility of stress related pain.

Of course it is very important to take a thorough case history to see if they might have a history of back problems and obviously when you do your assessment you will notices if there are physical problems that lead to the pain. But if the legs, the hip area and the spine all seem rather fine then it might be an idea to mention the connection between lower back pain and financial stress. And then your client should rather go and see a financial advisor, definitely stop watching the news and be grateful to you that you have been able to rule out any pathological problems. And as a daily meditation you might want to give him some calming affirmations that can help overcome the stress the person is experiencing. Again I state Louise L. Hay here who has the following affirmation for lower back pain:

“I trust the universe, I am courageous and independent. I know that life always supports me and all I need is always taken care of. I am safe.”

Now I might add that you have to decide whether or not you use those or similar affirmations because not every client will respond positively to them. So make sure your client can handle this well and doesn’t ridicule your knowledge and capabilities.

Always curious to hear about your experiences

Sticking to my plan

Okay, as promised, here is more from me and more about Dorn Spinal Therapy this time.

I don’t know how many of you went and had a look at the offer I made in my last blog entry, but so far, what I have seen, looks pretty interesting. And although it doesn’t carry the name of Dorn Spinal Therapy or massage or anything like it, all the content relates pretty much to us as business people. And this is how we have to see ourselves when we run our business of alternative health care practitioners.

Now I know that a lot of people have  become a bit paralysed over the last 2 weeks with all the talk that goes on regarding the financial crisis and the food crisis and the housing crisis. Gee, there are so many crisises out there that one wonders if it is still okay not to be in crisis. YES it is okay and I hope you are not paralysed but motivated by what is going on at the moment.

I had a meeting with my mastermind group here in Sydney recently and we were talking about recession. And one of the attendees said that she actually thinks, recession is something good an healthy for the business world. In the end, it means that only the good and strong businesses survive and that recession is nothing else but cleaning up the market place. First I thought, that is outrageous. But when I started thinking about it I found some really true and valuable lesson in this and that is that in bad times you will be tested and if you survive the test you will come out stronger at the other end.

Now what does that mean for us as practitioners? It means that people stop spending money for luxuries but will still put money into necessities. For your marketing that means going away from appearing as offering a luxury service to offering a serious and necessary and successful service. And that is the service of taking away back pain in only 1, 2 or little more treatment sessions. And that is what you have to advertise boldly to your potential market. Now with boldly I mean different to all the other advertising that is happening. which most of the times is boring, avarage and no one is reading anyway. One example, and that is my free gift to you today, is the following:

Letterbox drops. Most of us have done them. And most of the leaflets ended up in the bin because they were just sitting amongst all the other clutter ending up in our letterboxes. But how about you attach your leaflts to the front fence or even straight to the door handle of the entrance door? Do you think more people would read what is written on your leaflet? You bet. And consequently more people will call. Now make sure that what you write on your leaflet follows the AIDA formula which is: Attention, Interest, Desire, Action. Get their attention with a compelling headline, create interest with a great offer or good stats or testimonials or similar, get into their emotions and create their desire to come and see you and tell them what they have to do in a limited time frame to get to see you. Call, come, email, book, anything that is an activity to get them into your clinic. And when I talk about desire, just imagine how they might feel, what it might be they would want the most and express exactly that. Think of the best working ads. They all talk to our emotions. Watch the next set of ads under that observation and see what works best for you.

So, there is some action plan for you for the weekend and the next week. In the end I want you all to succeed and to survive. But just remember, the most important thing is, not to get sucked into all that negative talk and sentiment. It is all politics and we don’t want to become puppets others play with.

Have fun with your bold marketing and let me know how you go.

Just in case you want to blog as well….

Hi folks,

I know this has really little to do with Back Care Solutions and with what I wanted to write on this site, but on the other hand Blogs are there to inform people of interesting things. So here is something you could consider for your business as well and that is blogging. I know the program of Simpleology and I must admit it is a great program. And when I found out about their new program they want to start I thought it might be a good idea of getting it up here and give those of you, coming to my site, a headstart. So please check it out, I will certainly do so too, which means  I’m evaluating a multi-media course on blogging from the folks at Simpleology. For a while, they’re letting you snag it for free if you post about it on your blog.

It covers:

  • The best blogging techniques.
  • How to get traffic to your blog.
  • How to turn your blog into money.

I’ll let you know what I think once I’ve had a chance to check it out. Meanwhile, go grab yours while it’s still free. And when I come back here I promise I will talk about Dorn Spinal Therapy again. But remember it is all about your business as well so this is something to really look into.

A long time ago…….

I started my first blog. And I had all the good intentions to make that a regular thing. But then a long planned and well deserved trip to Germany got in the way. You know, when you run your business nowadays, you think you can just take your laptop with you and 2 hours a week do some work, just a bit to keep up to date. And it all sounds so easy and mangageable. But in reality - if you go on a holiday you should just do that. Because once the decision is make to have a holiday it is - as mentioned - well deserved. So after a few attempts to run the business overseas I gave in and accepted the fact that I couldn’t do it. So 5 weeks went and when I came back I didn’t remember how it all worked.  Funny? Can you relate? Computers are fun as long as you know what you have to do.  But now that particular knowledge is back and I hope I will be writing regular blog entries and get you guys to comment on it.

So what’s new. I guess the biggest news is that Back Care Solutions is moving again and we don’t know where to yet. that is an interesting experience as it is all about trust. Trusting that something will come up at the right time. And I think it really is similar to what happens in business as well. As long as we constantly think “oh my god, this is awful, it will never work, I just don’t get enough cleints” Then that is what you get. Because that is what you focus on. But when you focus on what works and on how to make it even better and trust that it will happen, it will happen. So I am also just focussing on the house we will find instead of starting to panic because I don’t know where to ship the boxes.

So next time you come here I am sure you will be able to read about our new house, where it is and what special features it has that make it easier for me to move away from where I am now. Keep your fingers crossed and enjoy your positive focus.

Welcome to my very first Blog

Barbara Simon

G’day everyone

I know, some of you might have been on this page before and thought, oh what an interesting blog. this must be for people who make up their own thoughts and ideas about what could be written in here. As much as I like self thinking people, it wasn’t the purpose. It was merely the fact that I had no idea how to start this thing and it took me a while to find the right person to give me the right answer. If you want to know who it is and need an answer as well let me know, I am happy to refer him on.

So, a blog on the Back Care Solutions site. What can you expect here? Well I guess it is an ongoing story about what is happening in the world of Back Pain, Neck Pain, Dorn Spinal Therapy, other treatments, media appearances and many news. But first of all it should also be a medium for you to use to post comments, questions, ideas, experiences, concerns, successes etc. So please feel free to post a comment when ever you would like to.

What is the latest news then? Well, I am going to Germany. And hopefully I will come back with more information about what is happening in Germany, the country of birth for Dorn Spinal Therapy, may be some new products, more courses, more inspirations. We will see and I will definitely post it all here.

Then of course my next training workshops in May in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. These are open to all health care practitioners at the moment but I will start trainings for lay people as well which means you too can learn the basics of Dorn Spinal Therapy so you can detect any problems in your friends and families backs early enough and start a successful treatment with a Dorn practitioner near you before it becomes too painful: for the body and the wallet.

In the second half of the year - soemhow it feels as if we were already very close - I then will do the big step across the big pond into the big country called US. And there I will be running the first trainings, not sure yet where, but we will see. So if you know of any practitioners over there and you think they should learn Dorn Spinal Therapy or if you have any oter idea how you can help me please let me know. I would be very grateful as it is no easy organise it all from here without knowing anyone. Thanks.

Okay, I promise I will become better in blogging, hopefully I will have some time when I am in Germany to get deeper into the subject but for now this is it. I have to get organised with my bags and everything and will talk to you soon
